I’m Angela, a Brand Partner with PaperPie! I am an avid reader and have always loved books. We’re spotlighting Reading Resources this month – they can help with phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary fluency, and comprehension.
Both of my kids worked through the My First Reading Library when learning to read. School of Monsters, Billie B. Brown, Hey Jack, and phonics readers are also favorites at our house.
What can we do about Dysregulation?
Kids are exposed to screens, notifications, busy schedules, and the “go go go” mentality every day – and I get it. It is so easy to get caught up in the busy part of life that you forget to take time to slow down.
No matter how busy our schedule is, one constant we have at our house is reading before bedtime. It’s a time to wind down and for the kids to just be still and listen without the other distractions around.
How does reading aloud help solve the problem of disconnection?
Reading aloud with your children is so important! It helps them build social relationships and better learn to read facial expressions, both things that are lacking when it comes to screens. Take a look at our next video to learn more and take a look at some of our amazing picture books!
What’s Happened to Critical Thinking?
Another negative effect of those pesky screens is our kids losing the ability to think critically and problem solve on their own. Take a look at this video to see how we can start rebuilding that connection and critical thinking for our kiddos…and spot a much-anticipated new title, too!
New Releases!
We have FOUR new titles that just rolled out this month: Lifesize Ocean Animals, Luna Loves Sports, and two reusable Water Wonders books to “paint” with water using a finger, paintbrush, or water pen – whatever is lying around!
Family Favorites
It’s difficult to narrow down, but we especially love the Einstein the Penguin chapter books, the School of Monsters series, and The Wrong Fairy Tale picture books.
